Find where AI should change the work, and what it would take
Ten working days on how the work really happens in your organisation: where expert time and value leak, which three opportunities are worth pursuing first, how ready your knowledge and data are, the controls each change would need and what it would be worth.
What you receive
- Workflow analysis: how the chosen work really happens today, step by step
- Expert-time and value leakage: where time, quality and money are lost, with the evidence behind each estimate
- The top three opportunities, ranked, with the reasoning behind the order
- Knowledge and data readiness: what each opportunity depends on and what needs fixing first
- Risk and control requirements: citations, permissions, expert review and the checks each change needs
- Economics: what each opportunity could be worth against what it would cost to build and run
- An architecture direction that works with the technology you already have
- A prioritised roadmap, including what to test first and what not to do yet
What we need from you
A sponsor who can set priorities, time with the people who do the work, real examples of it and access to the systems and knowledge it draws on. We agree what is appropriate to share, and how, before we start.
Prepare with the free AI Brief TemplateScope
Agree the business question, the workflows in scope and the people involved. Flag missing information and sensitive material early.
Investigate
Work through the workflows with the people who run them, examine real examples, the systems and the knowledge behind them, and test every estimate.
Report
Present the findings to the sponsor with the written report: the top three opportunities, the economics, the controls, the architecture direction and the first step.
Illustrative example, not a client result
What each opportunity in the report covers
- Workflow today
- Analysts preparing a client briefing search past reports, datasets and colleagues' notes, then write the synthesis from scratch.
- Value leakage
- Most of the time goes on finding and re-checking earlier work, and the same questions are researched again by different people.
- Opportunity
- A cited briefing workflow over the firm's own publications and data, drafting for the analyst to edit.
- What stays with people
- The judgement on what the client needs, the house view and every figure. A named analyst approves each briefing.
- Knowledge and data readiness
- Publications are well tagged. Datasets need a consistent identifier before they can be combined with them.
- Controls
- Citations on every point, permissions by client entitlement and expert review before anything leaves the firm.
- Economics
- Analyst hours recovered per briefing against the cost to build and run, with every assumption shown.
- Architecture direction
- Search and retrieval over the existing document store, alongside the data platform the firm already runs.
- First step
- An AI Sprint on this one workflow, measured against a baseline taken now.
What this review can establish
It is an evidence-based prioritisation over ten working days. It is not a maturity score or a forecast of returns, and it does not include a full systems audit, penetration test, legal opinion, production build or a validated financial business case. A wider or less defined question may need Discovery.

The free Value Check applies rules to your questionnaire answers, and the free AI Brief Template helps you think through one workflow. The review puts senior people into your organisation for ten working days: examining real examples, asking follow-up questions, testing estimates and working through the options with you.

Where the review leads
The review ends with a roadmap. Each later step is a separate decision, and the answer can be to stop.

How much does an AI Review cost?
From £7,500 ex VAT for ten working days. The scope and price are agreed in writing before work starts and depend mainly on the number of workflows and people involved. An AI Sprint to build the first workflow starts from £25,000. Smaller businesses and founders can start with an AI Brief session, 90 minutes with Dan for £1,250.
Is this an AI readiness assessment, an AI maturity assessment or an AI audit?
It covers what people usually want from each: how the work happens, where value is lost, how ready the knowledge and data are and what the risks are. It does not give you a maturity score. It ends with the three opportunities worth pursuing first, the economics and a roadmap.
What if AI isn’t the answer?
Then the report says so. The first step might be a process change, better use of tools you already have, or nothing yet. There is no obligation to commission more work.
What happens after the review?
You can act on the report yourselves, take it to another provider, or run an AI Sprint to build the first workflow properly and measure the result.
Talk through whether this is the right starting point
The report is yours. There is no obligation to commission more work. The next step could be an internal change, an AI Sprint on the first workflow, further investigation or no action.
