Every item here says who built it and in what role. Our own products are marked as ours. Work from Dan’s previous roles is marked as such. Nothing is padded, and nothing is borrowed from a partner’s portfolio.
KnowledgeIQ
The research intelligence platform. Ask a complex economic question in plain language, get the organisation’s current house view, open the sources.
The hard part was “current”
A relevant publication can still hold an old position. KnowledgeIQ separates question classification, retrieval, synthesis and a grounding check, with recency and supersession rules so the answer reflects the house view now rather than the house view in 2019.
Retrieval, reranking and grounding
Hybrid vector and BM25 retrieval with semantic reranking, chart processing, and structured forecast data supplied alongside prose when the question needs it. Source cards and confidence indicators let a reader verify rather than trust.
What we found on the way
Premium research meant to sit behind authenticated access was publicly reachable through a content-delivery misconfiguration. We identified it, assessed the business risk and reported remediation to leadership. Nobody asked us to look.

Dan Warrener led product design, architecture, data preparation, engineering and interface work. KnowledgeIQ is a TechGuidr-owned product developed around a research business’s requirements.

Deterministic where money is involved
Commercial calculations use fixed logic you can audit. AI is used for interpretation and drafting, never for the arithmetic.
A person decides every action
Every proposed action carries its reasoning, a confidence and a trace. The account team accepts, rejects or picks another motion, and the AI can be paused with one click.
Where it stands
A validated working prototype that is not yet in production. We say that on the page because we would want a supplier to say it to us.

Two applications rebuilt, a Databricks Medallion lakehouse with verified calculation pipelines, a context-aware AI coach, and a full Azure tenant-to-tenant migration.

What the review found
Dashboards disconnected from live data, scoring pipelines that did not implement the authoritative calculation method, and an estate spread across clouds, services and technology generations.
What the rebuild changed
Both principal applications rebuilt from the ground up on a structured dimensional model in the lakehouse, identity and deployment controls strengthened, and the whole business migrated tenant to tenant.
Whose work it was
Delivered in a previous technology leadership role, where Dan led the redesign and carried out a substantial part of the implementation. It is shown here as experience he brings to TechGuidr rather than as a TechGuidr engagement.

Real-time intelligence for a global engine fleet
A cloud data platform analysing petabytes of engine data for patterns and anomalies on Azure and Power BI. Maintenance events predicted early enough to minimise time out of service.
A university sent home overnight
More than 5,000 staff and students working and learning remotely at speed, on Azure Virtual Desktop, on infrastructure never designed for it.
Studio analytics in the early days of Azure
AAA studio analytics centralised on a young Azure, dogfooding the internal tooling that became Power BI, and migrating global BI workloads from on-premises.
Finding where the stock was going
A data warehouse recording the patterns in stock movement, with automated analysis around the events where losses clustered, so losses could be traced rather than absorbed.
Tracking every donated bag
A greenfield Azure platform with a 360-degree view of operations, legacy tills connected for real-time sales, and IoT across vehicles, textile banks and clothing bags.
Watching the odds being played in real time
A cloud platform revealing who was playing the odds on an event as it happened, and the architects, engineers and data scientists recruited around it.
